Interactivity of the Main Structure

N nee Public Seen by 91

So, so far, the plan is that we'll be constructing a Transparent Structure type thing (see Achilleas's modular house-like design as the initial idea) in the land next to the H4C. This will be a product, a sculpture, but also a makers-platform of sorts: an interactive installation made of junk and tools (but also totally in accordance with UN regulations) free and open for people to use.

The question is could we also make it interactive even when the tools are stored and everyone's at home? Could we make this alive somehow?

Initially I was thinking of something ubertechie, inspired by what the guys at the Leeds Hackerspace did with their LED lights cube which the audience controlled with mini tablets (see img 3)

But then, we could perhaps do something analogue and oddly transgressive to do with the fact that vision / photography and movement are so "regulated" in the BZ, we could make a different kind of comment on the tracking of movement: I'm thinking of Elizabeth Hoak-Doering's drawing furniture sculpture pendulums (imgs 1&2)

Sensors in other places of Cyprus

we can totally add some sensors around cyprus as well as in the buffer zone to add some sort of interactivity on the the structure.

The sensor will detect crossing pedestrians and trigger a tiny LED that will go on the project structure. As more and more people walk past the structure, it will become more visible at night, drawing more attention to it and thus bring in more people to walk by it and see what is going on inside the project space.

Wow!

So I'm thinking what we submit

  1. PDFs with letters of support
  2. Achilleas's img with the central structure & the location & the junk
  3. Our plans for interactivity: Your sensor location image with text to demonstrate that these some initial ideas among many

Sounds good!
