Registring hours in the VAS

FB Fabio Balli Public Seen by 217

Using the VAS requires rigor. Thus, I created a simplified process (http://nrp.sensorica.co/accounting/process/845/) so that we don't have any excuse about the complicated interface. :)

In order to gather hours with regularity and congruence, I propose that all hours that are not registered in the VAS ten days after the day the work was done are lost, ie these hours will not be considered for financial repartition or other purposes. Exceptions : hours done before August 11th (date BG joined Sensorica) are not put in the VAS.

This rule would enter into force on October 15th 2015.

Please also suggest improvements to the complicated interface.

If you are trying to set a limit to encourage prompt logging and eliminate approximation, 10 days is way too long. I believe the max should be a week. And if and when funding comes from development, even that is too long,

Also, just for information, if the VAS is used as people do their work each day, then it can be used as a coordination tool between people, and also as a project management tool (by anyone) to see the current status of the work. Part of this is your time and what you did, but part of it is what you created and what you used, etc.

At least that was the intention, so all feedback is welcome!

Thats a great point Lynn, and that would encourage and require daily logging. Which I think is what should be the goal in the long run, a central co-ordination page or dashboard like I've envisioned in the past, instead of scrambling everywhere to see where a project is at.

@jimanastassiou hey, would love to see your ideas sketched out! (When you have time....)

Having time to concider it, I would be Ok for a weekly limit even less as Jim suggested it.

Beyond that,I would love to help on the UX side, which I found very raw. As a "geek" I don't mind even if I get lost in it. But it's really not user friendly :)
