Introduce Yourself
Feel free to share a bit about yourself, your background, how you ended up joining this Loomio group, and what you'd like to get out of participating here. Keep in mind that the Aotearoa Permaculture Network is a public space, and anything you write can be seen by anyone who comes along, so don't get too personal :)

Kia ora @catherineduntonmcl , welcome to the APN Loomio! Yes, this group is brand new, and you and Tracy are first two members (not counting me ;)), so don't be put off by the lack of activity.

Tēnā koutou, I'm Daniel Strypey Bruce, currently based in Ōtepoti/ Dunedin. I'm an independent mediatista, and permageek. I set up what is now the APN after a Permaculture in NZ Hui in 2010, mainly to provide email lists for use by permaculture groups. I served two years on the Council of Permaculture in NZ, as Cultural Officer, and Website Liason. More about me here:

Hi Strypey:
I’m part of a small group establishing permaculture education in the BOP and all the benefits that come with it.
We’re mid stream improving our website, but you can see what we are doing at www.plentypermaculture.co.nz/home/ ( http://www.plentypermaculture.co.nz/home/ )
I came upon your APN loom because I am wanting to figure out how to reach out to people with PDC’s around New Zealand. I am organising for Dan Palmer to lead an Advanced Design course here in September, http://www.plentypermaculture.co.nz/event/advanced-permaculture-design/ ( http://www.plentypermaculture.co.nz/event/advanced-permaculture-design/ )
As you may or may not know, Dan is a quite experienced permaculture teacher and designer and is getting settled back here in NZ.
I am eager to support him, and eager to support people with PDC’s to feel more confident to get "out of their own backyard" more.
If you can educate me on how to better reach the larger permaculture community, I would appreciate that….
Thanks
Catherine

Tēnā koutou, my name is Jared. Got onto this through the PINZ site. Keeping busy with some other things in life at the moment but look forward to delving into more permaculture next year. Arohanui

Hi Catherine,
I just had a look at the ADC and it looks great. In an attempt not to hijack this thread with an unrelated topic I will reply directly via your website. You could possibly start a new discussion regarding the ADC.

Hi...i just stumbled into this loomio site. It sounds great, I curious, it looks either pretty new or nothing is happening....I'm with Plenty Permaculture in the BOP.
