Start our own poll of smaller parties?

TH Tane Harre Public Seen by 96

In response to the non-representation of smaller parties in the polls, should we approach the smaller parties and see if we can group together to create our own poll.

Yeah - they restrict parties to those who make the polls too.

There was a recent effort from the Logic party to join everyone together http://logic.org.nz

Logic party Policy #1

"Change the 'Share Registry' records to end and replace private ownership of common resource companies under the law of Magna Carta, with government ownership, to re-establish:"

I can't imagine why that's not a killer policy being lapped up. Oh right, that's how everyone dies.

I think @williamasiata had a thread about something like this a couple of years ago. I think it's a good idea, none of the small parties are getting any real coverage at all so it'd be good to reach out to the public. What parties would we be approaching?

All the small parties. Another way to do it and complain about the lack of coverage at the same time would be to invite each of the parties onto zoom and get them to point out the lack of coverage and then talk for five minutes on a policy of theirs that they think nz should be interested in.

This would show leadership by ip on the issue and hopefully gain some coverage.

I have expanded a little bit on it here

You guys have the skills. It would bring the smaller parties into the light. Highlight the problems we are all having gaining traction. Show altruism, leadership, positive solutions, etc....

if they are funded, they should be neutral to all the people from the diverse society their viewers reflect. from 1 to 5 million. that's not so hard if it was lotto; finding the winner, so yeah. when will the real opinion count ?

Would be a great idea, we approach smaller parties and we create our own applet or website which would let users decide among the smaller parties. I guess it would be a coalition of sorts.

We could even take it a step further and host debates on live-streams among the smaller parties instead of relying on the mainstream media debates hosted by Mike Hosking and Patrick Gower. l=Like Ban 1080, United Peoples Movement, Mana, etc and maybe have an independant host the debate.
