Ratify Mayel de Borniol & Matt Cropp as Membership Administrators Closed Wed 7 Jun 2017 4:07PM
Mayel and Matt have been performing this role by default, but at our meeting today we decided it would be good to make the role explicit. Right now the role consists of:
- Reviewing & Approving Applications for Accounts
- Reviewing & Approving Applications for Loomio Participation.
- Reviewing reports from users and enforcing our code of conduct (once it's developed) as instance administrators.
It would also be great if more folks would be interested in sharing in this role - if you are potentially interested, please join the "Membership working group" subgroup!

Agreed - and thanks for taking on the role(s). Worth re-looking at roles at fixed internals (every 3 months for example) while we are in this ephemeral stage. I believe Loomio do so as a matter of organisation.

Formalize Nathan Schneider's "Treasurer" Role Closed Sun 30 Jul 2017 2:01PM
Nathan's role as "treasurer" in charge of managing the Open Collective is now formalized!
As I was submitting an expense to Open Collective, I got to thinking we should formalize the de facto treasurer role that Nathan has been filling as the person who approves Open Collective reimbursements following their approval by a vote on the Social.coop Loomio.
If you are comfortable with ratifying the standing arrangement, vote yes. If anyone feels like we should have a nominations process rather than a ratification, feel free to block and I can initiate that process instead.

I support this - as formalising the current situation. Subject to an election once the bylaws are more formalised.

I believe we should have at least two OpenCollective admins at any one time, for mutual accountability and in case the treasurer isn't available at a given time. We ratify someone else from this working group as well.

Agree with Nathan. The bylaws define how finances are handled, so the OC admin role is only administrative (manually marking an expense as approved after it has been approved in a Loomio proposal), and so better to have a few people able to do so

Thank you for this proposal, Matt. I agree it's good to formalize this role, and don't feel the need for a nominations process at this point, but also agree with Nathan's suggestion re > 1 person.
