Would you like to tell your story on video???

Forest Gardens are sprouting everywhere, and chatting to @Nick Turner about the potential of our website, he believes we could make it SO much more practical for community, and friends of park groups say. For example, how to share the wonderful stories that are already out there of how these gardens got off the ground? Using people's own words to tell the story of their community; what inspired people to go for a forest garden; where did they look for help; how did they fund it; what was the purpose? And what has been achieved?

Are you up for this - and to have a bit of fun??
We are calling for short videos (1-5 minutes) were you can introduce yourself and your project;

  • Tell us how you got it off the ground - who was involved

  • Tell us how you describe it to curious passers by

  • Tell us what’s special about it

  • Tell us what the multiple benefits are, and what you think has been achieved

  • Tell us how your work is supporting in tackling the climate emergency

Even a smartphone video will work; although you need to be careful about recording the sound well enough.

Below are some tips, they both say to use a tripod; but tape on top of a pole works just as well!

Let us know if you’d like any more guidance. We’d be happy to help!

Hi Paul,

This is an excellent idea, thank you for including us. We'd love to be involved.

I shall ask Faye to knock something up. Shall we send via Loomio? Or, email?

Apologise for missing various threads - Loomio does not like to work on my phone, and it's rare these days that i'm on my laptop. I tried to email your son RE is questions on community food forests' yesterday, but I notice it has bounced back (?)

Best,

Tristan

Oh that is great Tristan! Thanks so much for planning to take the trouble. I do think it will inspire others. Please post here if the file will load; otherwise do a file transfer to me [email protected] and we'll load up to the website. Kind of you to email Felix. His email is [email protected]

I hope that works!

Dear Paul, Thank you for getting the ball rolling on this one. I had prepared a presentation in support of "Creating a Happier and Healthier Herefordshire" meeting last night, which I can now share here. Its not a video, its a pdf presentation with accompanying voice recording, 8.5 mins long. Moreover its much wider than our community forest garden though does talk about this in the last slide. So while it does not fit the brief fully I hope its relevant and useful for members. Richard
