Calling Members and potential Members
Dear loomio friends, because NFGS is now a membership organisation we are now making membership official. Two reasons: members have a constitutional right to influence how we develop NFGS; second we need to stay viable. For example as of today we have 143 days left of free use of loomio. Please could you download and complete the membership form (see thread NFGS Official docs) and make a donation through the donate button top right on the membership front page.

Thanks Tomas. There are certain statutory obligations the Board has since we are now a community interest company in respect of delivering accounts, protecting data, ensuring we work within our aims. The Board might also make recommendations or suggestions on strategic direction but this will always be open to challenge and voted on by the membership. I think we'd all like to see projects thriving out there of one kind or another which promote forest gardening. Members are of course completely free to use the umbrella of NFGS for whatever they do. But I think it's sensible to have some governance for this. A combination of a board member and another member not involved with the project to endorse it could be one way of making that work. What do people think?

The membership form frequently refers to the shadow board as decision making body. We are now a CIC, so it needs changing to whatever it is called now. And we may have to inform everyone who sigend up with this form of this change, though I'm not absolutely sure about this.
Like others I can't see a donate button at the top right - there are little ones for facebook, twitter, youtube and forum, but no donate button. A big fat one in the middle of the page would do nicely!

Hi Emma there's a small donate button on the top right hand corner of the website. Not exactly obvious - we need to make that clearer. Great that you're joining! PS we are fixing the donate button!
