For now I'm going to abstain on this. I'm already contributing to SolidFund and I'm a paid up member of Platform 6. I'm not against the idea, and I'm happy to contribute some time to CoTech, but I'm not sufficiently clear on CoTech's game plan, which I think I need to be before making further commitment. Maybe the Sheffield discussion will help me.

Thanks for getting this live @animorphcoop. I'm definitely up for a pilot. Clarifying question: how do we collectively decide which tasks from Deck will be done? If there's a task on there, can I just do it an expect to be paid for it? Can I also create a task myself, add it to Deck, do it, and then get paid for it?

Thanks Polly! At the hack we thought people could create the tasks themselves and then do them (or assign to someone else?) because there's a lot of important work that could be done within CoTech. The assumption that whatever is on Deck is worth doing would be tested. Whatever is done on Deck is archived and at the end of the year we will see what actually got done.
You do not get paid for this work, this is how you pay into the fund (e.g. if a member of a co-op has done 12 hours of work for CoTech their co-op wouldn't be expected to pay money into the bank account for them). This will be up to each co-op to evaluate during the year or at the end of the year. /Szczepan

Can we assume that number of workers for the £1 per week / one hour of work rule applies to full time employed equivalents rather than members? Because some co-ops like Webarchitects have non-worker members and some co-ops have workers who are not members and some co-ops have part-time members.

@chriscroome I see your point. The pilot is designed to run a simplified version of the process so can we assume all worker members (in whichever capacity their operate) should be included? We could leave it to the discretion of the co-ops to decide if they want to contribute for working non-members too.

What about part-time workers, for example I'm the only full time worker at Webarchitects, everybody else is part time, should they count the same as full time workers or should we add up all the workers hours to come up with a total for the full time equivalents and base the contribution on that?

@chriscroome I agree it makes sense, each co-op would need to determine it for themselves though. What do others think?

we are discussing internally but the vibe is good. One thing to note, in my own mind at least, that any pilot will take some time to get off the ground as it will take a good bit of time to generate a surplus that can be used to fund things. So I can see us working details out ahead of that...

I've started a proposal internally for us to vote on this which will end next Thurs...

Does not quite seem like we are getting a quorum here!
