How do we want to use Loomio?

S Sharon Public Seen by 355

I recently started a discussion on the forum about whether or not we should endorse the European Commons Assembly. Silvia suggested to move the discussion to Loomio, which now prompts the discussion about how we want to use Loomio and what types of content will be moved from the forum to here. Please add your thoughts....

I think Loomio will generally provide clearer transparency on decision-making.
My initial thoughts (not much thinking has gone behind this):
* Decisions made on bost calls: unaffected (but recorded similarly?)
* Decisions made after discussion on bost calls: allows time to ponder decision if more significant, allows inclusion of wider bost (and others?) if call was not well attended, perhaps corroborating evidence can be attached/considered. Link posted on forum with results pasted on forum for transparency. Lends itself to more larger more impactful / higher risk decision-making.
* Decisions made without discussion on bost calls: minor decisions to be taken offline or urgent decisions needed between calls. The latter will likely require some form of criteria e.g. minimum quorum, minimum open duration, etc.

Agree with Seigo,
Loomio allows decisions to be made non-realtime, which is important because usually, not everyone can attend the BoST calls.

Any topic that requires yes/no votes or a choice among several options. It has to apply to something significant, such as the question on the European Commons.

We might want to open a new topic under BoSt called Decisions on Loomio, where everybody can see what we are or have decided upon. Let's talk about it at the next call on July 31st.
