Let's take this to the world!

It's been the buzz on the twitter all day, and it's awesome to hear you all want to take Internet Party to the world. We couldn't be happier to give you every wisdom we've gleaned in our short journey!

This is the start of a decentralised international movement - let's take these ideas, born from the Internet and spread them through the world. Like the Internet, this is not something to be controlled and lead, but to be crowdsourced and exponential in its growth. :purple_heart:

We'll start with this landing spot, but if you're keen to group off into localised efforts, yell out and I'll give you the keys to your own part of this party - wherever you are. :nz:

Voice chat on Discord too.

Hi @ipjobooth !!
I would love nothing more than to start an IP chapter for the USA, in hopes of restoring freedom and democracy throughout my country and throughout the world. I have long believed the ever-evolving internet would be the the proverbial sword which enables humanity to carve a path of liberty and justice for all. If you forge the keys for an Internet Party of America, I will use them to serve my countrymen and all the denizens of Earth to build a better future where power is reserved for those who wish not to use it for selfish means, but rather for the betterment of all. Together, let's build a better future.

Hey Riley A lot of people from the States are interested. I suggest you all get together as a group and then break it off into state chapters and institute some kind of national assembly. Or whatever you decide best suits you. For now, @jobooth can you please create a Loomio thread and Discord channel for Internet Party USA and lets add in each of the USians that come in and want to be a part of it. :)

Hi all

Here is the draft copy of our manifesto for terms and conditions of establishment of international Internet Parties. Please be advised that it is pending legal approval and may be subject to change. Sorry this took a little longer than expected but we really wanted to get it right.

Thanks,

INTERNET PARTY - INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINES

CORE VALUES

As stated under section 3 (Objectives) of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand, our core values are:

• Openness
• Freedom
• Fairness
• Connectedness
• Innovation

LOCAL ELECTION RULES / COMPLIANCE

Each international Internet Party is responsible for learning and complying with the particular election rules of their country/state/province. The electoral rules followed by the Internet Party of New Zealand relate only to the territory of New Zealand and are not applicable to the international movement. The Internet Party of New Zealand suggests that you consult local expertise in order to assure you comply with any and all electoral rules and associated legislation.

LEGAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent legal counsel in order to ensure that the legal aspects of your Party business structure, communications, finances and the operations of your Party comply with applicable local laws.

ACCOUNTING

The Internet Party of New Zealand advises that you should seek and employ local, competent accounting assistance in order to ensure that you are fully complying with applicable local financial and accounting regulations.

CONSTITUTION

The Internet Party of New Zealand Constitution sets out the rules for the operation of the Party and it’s structure. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows the use of its Party Constitution as a base template from which the international Parties can adopt and later make adjustments by consensus of their Executive Committee once appointed, as befits their circumstances, provided that such alterations are in the spirit of the Core Values of the Internet Party of New Zealand.

The most recent copy of the Constitution of the Internet Party of New Zealand can be read here:

http://ipnz.github.io/Docs/ConstitutionAndRules/

COMMUNICATIONS

Although the Internet Party of New Zealand has supplied the Loomio and Discord spaces for the initial point of contact for the international Internet Parties, the latter are responsible for setting up their own social media accounts and website domains, establishing and moderating their own communications channels and for any content or conduct within or related to the aforementioned.

BRANDING

International Internet Parties must be recognisable to the public by the use of a modified version of the Internet Party of New Zealand logo. The Internet Party of New Zealand allows use of this logo on the following understanding:

the original logo will not be altered, only added to (by adding words or graphics that represent your country)
that the brand will not be used to represent anything which violates our Core Values
please email your modified brand to [email protected] for approval
For official copies of our branding templates/logo please contact [email protected]

TECH SUPPORT

Some initial tech support, within reason, is available by contacting @ipnztech on Twitter (DM’s are open)

Any questions? email [email protected]

All international Parties must be registered with the Internet Party of New Zealand and will be listed in our directory site which is going up at https://internet-party.co

SUBSCRIPTION FEES

At no time will the Internet Party of New Zealand charge any membership or subscription fees from the international Parties. Only New Zealand citizens who are members of the Internet Party of New Zealand are subject to the payment of membership fees.

In agreeing with the above terms and establishing their Parties, the international Parties recognise that the relationship between the Internet Party of New Zealand and the international Parties is non-financial.

PIRATE PARTIES INTERNATIONAL

The Internet Party of New Zealand is applying for member status with Pirate Parties international (PPI). This can be extended to international Internet Parties on a case-by-case basis. There are many benefits to joining PPI - as there is an established international network of many thousands of tech-savvy members, with a mature organisational structure and annual conference. We highly suggest that once firmly established, each international Internet Party also applies for member status with PPI.

DISCLAIMER

Internet Party of New Zealand disclaims any and all liability arising from any and all activities of the international Internet Parties.

NOTES: This document is currently pending approval by the legal counsel of the Internet Party of New Zealand and may be modified in the future. Any revised copy will be posted to the International page on our Loomio. It is the responsibility of the International Parties to keep up to date with any such changes.

Im confused. How will Pirate Party InternationalI membership benefit International Internet Parties in countries with already well established Pirate Party?

Does the Internet Party of New Zealand joining PPI not represent a potential conflict of interesting going forward for those of us starting Internet Parties in countries where the PP is already well established?

Is the Internet Part of New Zealand becoming the Pirate Party of New Zealand under a different name?

We are working with them based around our similarities and retaining our own sovereignty and independence re any differences. It's simply a support mechanism. Particularly in the case of New Zealand, there are many parallels. And since Pirates have successfully entered government in multiple countries, utilising their experience and networks is a sound decision. But we will not "become" the Pirates, no. Simply becoming honorary members of the International affiliates org.
