group on Signal/LibreSignal

We have a group on Signal/LibreSignal for diasp.in maintainers. It can be used for quick follow ups. We can use [email protected] as well. If you use Signal and want to join the group, message anyone of us already in Signal group. Any decisions will still be made in loomio.

Note: We are testing out Signal as it has encrypted group feature, in the long term, we should improve xmpp to match its features, for better federation. Signal does federate, but I think its still more tightly controlled which servers are added to federation (there are two servers currently, one by Open Whisper Systems and another by CyanogenMod and both federate - its hard-coded in the server.).

Another good feature of Signal is iOS client (well, some of our contacts use iOS/Windows).

This will be useful because ios seriously lacks a good xmpp client. Monal disconnects often and chatsecure ios version is not consistent either. That's where Zom will have a big role to play for ios.

Anyway ios users in our group will have more to share about this.

ChatSecure iOS version will soon have OMEMO support after Signal updated license for their AxolotlKit library.

But as LibreSignal is unmaintained, I left the Signal group and will be uninstalling LibreSignal soon. We can use [email protected] for real time communications.
