Wairarapa Eco Farms' pick up evening

DMS Deepa-Rose M. Sealy Public Seen by 28

W.E.F proposes to use the Tory st space as a vege pick up on Thursday evenings from 5.15-6.45 approx. This would have to be available every week and initially we would also like to hold film screenings/talks biweekly, perhaps increasing up to weekly if popular.

We would provide tory street with a koha of approx $10 and ask for a koha from those attending to add to this further. We could only make this a viable spot for drop offs if we had at least 7 or 8 people, and preferably more. So far we have only one expression of interest from a member, but because it is such a central location we would hopefully pick up many more members.

Before we could commit, we would need to have this confirmed. Perhaps this idea/CSA promotion could be circulated around Tory St and associated Networks email lists prior to this being confirmed.

Good to have the group involved and am happy for this to happen as long as it works around the events already in place ie. Uke! Perhaps another time to mention that one of our policies has been privileging one-off events over recurring ones.

realise the timing may be a problem with the chalkle ukelele fortnightly classes; but i can negotiate timings with the folk at wairarapa eco farms. in the meanwhile i will insert it in the calendar as fortnightly. x

Ukulele instructor here. I don't mind sharing the space for the pickup, as long as the noises don't drown out my ukulele gangstas. The space is large enough that we could facilitate both, I think.

this is from matt from w.e.f:

'I think the idea of sharing the space with the Ukelele class and holding movies and talks on the nights when uke classes aren't on sounds perfect!

It will all depend a little on how many peeps we can get to switch to picking up in the city or if we can do some promo in the area and get some new members.. which I think is very do-able!'

so, two questions from my side:

firstly, shall i leave this proposed event in the calendar while the new members are being sought? (could take a few weeks)

secondly, is this alternating uke class/vege pick up movie/talk night ok?

@deeparosemsealy - seems like it will pass, but we're still at the mercy of trying to make sure the space continues on and on and on. Yeah - leave it in - especially if it says that it finished before 7. That'd mean other things could go after if they wanted.

so we're all up and go.

talked to matt this evening, and he said they have four confirmed tory st consumers and so this thursday veges/fruit will be dropped off in the early afternoon, and then matt (whiting) will come at 5ish and man the fort for a few hours or so!

shall talk about payments after this thursday.

talked to matt this evening (and gave him a key for the thursday vege pick up) and he asked whether he/they could have vege pick up next week on wednesday rather than thursday as thursday is anzac day.

this conflicts with heidi's yoga class, but i have emailed her and asked her thoughts on this.

also changed, for now, the time slot to wednesday next week (for the wairarapa eco farm).
