Policy 3: Proposal Forming
Background: This is a very simple policy to ensure that all CoLab proposals are directly related to achieving the agreed Vision, Mission and Aims. Once everyone is familiar with sociocracy, it may be decided that it will no longer be needed. Until then, this makes it really clear.
Policy 3: Proposal forming
All proposals relate directly to achieving the CoLab’s Vision, Mission and Aims.
Proposals become policy when they are consented by the relevant team processing them by using the consent decision-making process.
Any member of the CoLab can suggest a proposal for any other team.
It is important that all proposals provide:
* clear and relevant background context and information,
* a clear and concise statement of what the proposed policy is,
* a date when the policy will be reviewed if the proposal achieves consent.
Resources to assist with proposal forming can be found on the website [hyperlinks to these resources will be inserted when ready].
Date agreed: 16th September 2017
Review date: Six months from date of adoption.

It may be we keep it in place - but we can review that after the first six months!

Looks good. My only thought is about the wording: "a clear and concise statement of what the proposed policy is", and "a date when the policy will be reviewed if the proposal achieves consent." The word policy makes me think of these policies, when I assume we are talking about actions/projects/programmes that result from the proposals. Is there a better word we can use or am I misunderstanding the intent? Thanks

I'm clear now on the wording, so will vote in agreeance

Second CoLab announcement - Policy three also adopted unanimously - we are now ready to make proposals!
This policy just makes it clear that all proposals should relate to achieving the vision, mission and aims.

I am assuming the full version of the vision, mission, and aims (which I like) - I am not in favor of reducing those yet (either in number or to what I see as bland and almost meaningless ambiguities).

Good. Succinct yet clear.

Thank you @andrewlangford for your 'bland and meaningless' comment. Very constructive.

"Once everyone is familiar with sociocracy" doesn't make it easy in terms of new-comers. Is the intent that all new folks will complete an induction in sociocracy? Or should we keep these policies to facilitate that transition on an on-going basis?
